Testimonial: content creation at Colruyt Group
Colruyt Group is a Belgian family business which, over three generations, has grown into a retail group with nearly 33.000 employees, active in three countries: Belgium, Luxembourg and France.
Why did Colruyt contact The Learning Hub?
To manage the entire logistics workforce, Colruyt Group is implementing new software: LWM (Logistic Workforce Management). Via LWM the logistic managers can determine, follow up and implement the planning. Afterwards they can analyze the results of the planning. It is important that all newcomers and experienced logistics managers get to know the software and feel confident using it daily.
How did we do this?
We developed a teaser video and 10 micromodules containing software simulation. The course was developed in Dutch and translated into French.
Teaser video
We opted for a teaser video because it frames the learning process. We want to encourage employees to follow the course. A video is an accessible way to present a subject and immediately provides a lot of visibility. In the video, we explain the content of the e-learning trajectory, why it is useful for them specifically, what they will learn and how it will save them time.
Software simulation
Because of the large amount of content, we chose to work out a trajectory of 10 (micro)modules. In each module one topic (for example: absences) is discussed in detail. Theory alternates with practice.

Teaser video
In the teaser video, the learner meets the character Arthur. Arthur is a logistic manager at Colruyt Group. He creates awareness for the LWS learning trajectory and indicates what topics will be discussed. He also mentions what the benefits will be for them.
Software simulation
During the 10 software simulation modules, the learner meets Arthur again. Arthur guides the learners through the modules. The learning objectives are described at the beginning of each module. On the menu slide, the learner will find several subtopics. That way it is easy to look up something later.
The learner can practice in a realistic environment. We use real screenshots to mimic the tool as closely as possible. Arthur gives the learner more information about different topics and he also asks questions.
When the learner clicks on Arthur, he or she gets more information and/or a hint on the screen.
At the end of each module we integrated a short quiz or a case. On the last slide, Arthur gives a brief summary of the module.
Many of our employees within logistics have not yet worked with e-learning. Nevertheless, the roll-out of LWM was successful and 85 employees have already been trained. Among them were managers, logistic managers and successors to job students. In total we aim for about 250 employees who will follow this learning trajectory. The separate micromodules, the alteration between theory and practice, and the fact that the e-learning can always be consulted in our LMS, are a big advantage.
